Founder & Principal Consultant, SPICe Lab

Marcos Salas-Saavedra

Marcos is a geochemist with experience using isotopes and trace elements to understand Earth's biogeochemical systems. He completed his PhD in Geochemistry at The University of Queensland (Australia) and later conducted postdoctoral research at Princeton University.

He has worked with advanced analytical laboratories in Australia, the United States, and Chile, collaborating with diverse research teams and applying geochemical tools to a wide range of environmental and geological questions.

Through SPICe Lab, he aims to bring this international experience in isotope geochemistry to serve research projects, industry, and public institutions in southern Chile and the South Pacific region.

Scientific Advisors & Collaborators

SPICe Lab is built with the support of a growing network of colleagues, laboratories, and institutions. As formal scientific advisors and external collaborators are confirmed, their profiles will be added here with their authorization.

The idea is to maintain a flexible structure, where specific experts can participate according to each project's needs, while SPICe Lab serves as the central coordination and interpretation point.
